# One email a month about federal prison

Once a month I write up what changed. What got added to this site, what the BOP (the federal Bureau of Prisons) did, and whatever question families kept asking me that month. It's short and you can read it in about two minutes.

That's the whole offer. No drip sequence, no course, nothing with your name dropped into it every Tuesday. Some months there's nothing worth your time and I don't send anything.

### What the Bureau changed

Policy that actually moves, with the [program statement](https://federalprisondude.com/resources/bop-program-statements) so you can read the source instead of taking my word for it. Not every memo. The ones that change what happens to somebody.

### The question everybody asked

I answer email all month. When the same question shows up twenty times, it goes in here answered once, in plain terms, for everybody who was too polite to ask.

## What it isn't

It isn't an alert. A monthly email is too slow to tell you visiting stopped this morning or that somebody got moved last night. Those are separate, they're free, and they run on their own:

Your address sits in one table on my server. I don't sell it, rent it, or hand it to an ad network, and it never shows up in anybody else's inbox. You confirm it once before the first email sends, every email after that has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing is the end of it.
